Chief Scientific Officer, BEAUTYCOUNTER
Xavier Ormancey is the Chief Scientific Officer of Counter Brands.
He is in charge of the overall management of Research and Innovation, Formulation, Product Development, Product testing and also Environment, Health & Safety.
Prior to joining Beautycounter, Xavier has had 30 years of experience in the Beauty industry working for companies like L’Oréal (perfumer), Chanel (Head of Research Center) and Yves Rocher (Head of R&D).
He has graduated from University of Montpellier (France) – Master of Science and from CHEEDD (Paris) – Master of Sustainable Development.
He has traveled the world learning traditional systems of medicine (Ayurveda, TCM, Tibetan, Amazonian…) and implemented sustainable sourcing programs.
In his role as Chief Scientific Officer of Counter Brands, Xavier provides the overall leadership to the product development functions from beauty research, ingredient screening, formula innovation to final safety and performance testings.
He also ensures the compliance of product formulas with strict company policy and sustainability.
In order to provide more innovations, he is in charge of creating scientific concepts and formula story-telling. He is in charge of implementing an in house formulation laboratory and an innovation organization in coordination with suppliers, bringing exclusive technologies and ingredients to the brand.
